American naval base in Guantanamo Bay
Washington: The first military aircraft sent to Gwantanamo Bay from America landed in Cuba on Tuesday evening. An American official has given information about this. The US will keep illegal immigrants in Gwantanamo Bay’s jail. It is considered the most dangerous jail in the world and the accused in the September 11, 2001 terror attack were kept in this jail. President Donald Trump is considering Gwantanamo Bay as a suitable place to keep the migrants and says that it has the ability to have 30,000 people.
Additional military force deployed in Guantanamo Bay
US Defense Minister Pete Hegseth has described it as the best place to deport migrants. In the last few days, additional military force from the US has been sent to the naval base for assistance. Amy Fisher, director of the refugee and migrant rights program at ‘Amnesty International US’, has condemned such use of Guantanamo Bay.
300 employees posted in Guantanamo Bay
There are about 300 employees deployed in Guantanamo Bay who are overseeing the exile campaign. Their number can be increased or reduced depending on the need of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Of these, at least 230 personnel are American marines of the 6th Marine Regiment who took the front here on Friday. (AP)
