Indonesia Earthquake: Strong earthquake tremors have been felt in Indonesia. The intensity of this earthquake was 6.1, and its center was away from the coast near the North Sulawesi province. According to the USGS agency, the earthquake came at a depth of 10 km (6.2 mi). It is a matter of relief that there is no threat to tsunami. The State Geological Survey said that there is no immediate loss or casualty reported.

Indonesia is located in a place called ‘Ring of Fire’, where many tectonic plates of the earth are found. For this reason, this area is considered extremely sensitive in terms of earthquake and volcanic activities.
Earthquake and tsunami have caused havoc
Let me tell you that in January 2021, more than 100 people were killed in the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that shook Sulawesi and thousands of people became homeless. Earlier in 2018, more than 2200 people were killed in a 7.5 magnitude earthquake in Palu, Sulawesi and the subsequent tsunami. In 2004, there was a 9.1 magnitude earthquake in the Ache province, causing a tsunami and more than 170,000 people in Indonesia.
