US President Donald Trump
Newark: More than 15 states in the US, including New Jersey, have said that they will challenge President Donald Trump’s executive order that ends the constitutional guarantee of citizenship based on birth. New Jersey’s Democratic Attorney General Matt Platkin said he is leading a group of 18 states, the District of Columbia and the city of San Francisco in filing a lawsuit seeking to block Trump’s order. “The president has broad power, but he is not a monarch,” Platkin said.
Trump raised the issue in the election campaign
Trump’s order will end the policy of automatically granting citizenship to people born in America. Trump had said during his election campaign that he would do this after becoming President. Platkin and immigrant rights advocates cited the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, which says people born in the United States and living under its jurisdiction are citizens of the country.

Indian-American MPs protested
Meanwhile, Indian-American lawmakers have opposed US President Donald Trump’s executive order to change the rule of automatic citizenship for anyone born in America. This move will not only affect illegal immigrants from across the world, but will also affect students and professionals from India.
Trump signs executive order
Let us tell you that, in the early hours of his second term as President, on Monday, Trump signed an order, which announced that in the future, children born in the country of undocumented immigrants will no longer be citizens. Will be considered. The order will also apply to children of certain mothers living in the country legally but temporarily, such as foreign students or tourists. Trump’s executive order states that children of such noncitizens are not “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States and thus are not covered by the longstanding constitutional guarantees of the 14th Amendment.
