Shopping mall roof collapsed in Peru
Lima: Six people were killed and at least 78 others were injured when the roof of a shopping mall’s food court collapsed in Peru. The Defense Minister of the country has given information about this incident. Food court mall has a place where various restaurants and restaurants are there. The area of the collapsed roof was 700 to 800 square meters.
The roof was made of iron
The accident occurred when the heavy roof made of iron fell on the people present there in the ‘Real Plaza Truejillo’ shopping mall located in the city of Trajilo. Defense Minister Walter Estudilo told reporters that according to information given by local fire personnel, five people died on the spot after the building collapsed and another person died in the hospital. Estudilo said that 30 injured have been discharged from the hospital and 48 are still hospitalized, of which three are in critical condition. The minister has expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
Relief and rescue operations continue
Louis Ronkal, head of the local fire department, said that rescue and relief work is going on. Meanwhile, the Mayor of the Trazillo Mario Reyana has announced the closure of the mall in view of the risk. There is a wave of mourning across the country since this incident.
