The team of scientists discovered a new color
California: A team of scientists claimed to have discovered a new color, which no human has seen before. Actually this research was done after an experiment, in which researchers fired laser pulse in their eyes. In such a situation, by stimulating specific cells in the retina, a blue-green color has been seen which scientists have named “Olo”. However, experts say that a new color existence is open to debate. The findings published in the Journal of Science Advance on Friday have been notable by Professor Rain NG, co-author of the University of California. This information has been revealed by BBC.
Scientists believe that these results can potentially lead to research on color blindness. Professor NG, who was one of the five people participating in the experiment, stated at the BBC Radio 4 program on Saturday that Olo is more saturated than any color seen in the real world.
What did Professor NG tell?
Professor NG said that suppose you roam throughout your life and you only see pink, baby pink, pastel pink. And then one day you go to the office and a person is wearing a shirt, and it is the most intense baby pink that you have ever seen, and they say that it is a new color and we call it red.
During the use of the team, the researchers shine the laser beam in the pupil of each participant. The study had five participants, including four men and a woman. Their color vision was normal. Three of the participants- including Professor NG- were co-author of the research paper.
Although Professor NG admitted that it is technically very difficult to see Olo, the team is studying conclusions to see what it can potentially mean for the color blind people, which seem difficult to distinguish between some colors.
