Symptoms were seen for the first time on 25 November
Citing sources from the National Reference Lab, it was reported in the newspaper Express Tribune that the girl had shown symptoms of polio for the first time on November 25, and Wild Poliovirus Type-1 infection has been confirmed in her. This is the situation in Pakistan when in the year 2024, a large-scale campaign was launched to provide free polio vaccines to children under five years of age at their homes.

In Pakistan, 68 cases of polio were recorded in the year 2024, of which Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had 21 cases. 27 cases were reported in Balochistan, 19 cases in Sindh, while one case each of polio virus was reported in Punjab and Islamabad.
