Washington: As soon as Donald Trump took oath as President, a period of change began to appear in America. Senior diplomats working in top positions in the US State Department have left their posts under the wishes of the Trump administration. Now the Trump administration is planning to appoint its own people to those positions. This information has been received from current and outgoing US officials.
The new president chooses his team
Such changes in senior State Department positions following a presidential election are not unusual. Officials serving in such positions, like political appointees, are required to submit resignation letters before the new administration takes office. Many times such resignations have not been accepted and officials have remained in their posts, at least temporarily. Especially until the new president names his team.

Among the officials to be reassigned is John Bass, acting deputy secretary of state for political affairs, according to three current and former officials with knowledge of the matters. The officials gave this information on condition of anonymity, which has not been announced publicly. (AP)
