The White House termed this limited ceasefire as ‘the first step towards peace’ and hoped that it would eventually lead to a sea ceasefire in the Black Sea and would permanently stop the war.
The White House stated that these steps in West Asia would start immediately. Soon after a conversation between Trump and Putin, the Kiev was warned of an airstrike, followed by the explosion in the city.
Local authorities urged people to take shelter at safe places. At the moment it was not clear whether Ukraine is in this phased ceasefire scheme or not.
Ukrainian officials proposed a ceasefire earlier this month with the US delegation in Saudi Arabia, including the Black Sea and long -range missile attacks and the release of prisoners, a ceasefire. After a conversation with Putin, Trump said in a post on social media, “We have all agreed to the immediate ceasefire on energy and infrastructure.
At the same time, according to Russia’s President’s Office Kremlin, Putin told President Trump during the conversation that the US and its allies would have to stop giving military and intelligence to Ukraine to end the war.
Kremlin said that Putin welcomed Trump’s call for the sea ceasefire and ‘agreed to start a conversation to work further on the specific details of such an agreement’.
According to the Kremlin, Putin also told Trump that Russia and Ukraine will exchange 175–175 warfasts on Wednesday and Russia would also hand over 23 badly injured soldiers to Ukraine.
