US President Donald Trump
Washington: The US government has ordered the aid given to other countries to be suspended and reviewed. The review has been ordered to ensure whether this aid is in line with its foreign policy under the ‘America First’ agenda. US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order in this regard.
US State Department’s clear stance
US State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said, “President Trump has clearly said that the United States will not give money indiscriminately if the American people are not getting any benefit in return for the help. “Reviewing and recalibrating foreign aid for the sake of hard-working taxpayers is not only appropriate, it is morally necessary.”
45 billion US dollars help
Bruce said, “The government is launching a review of all foreign aid programs to ensure whether this aid is consistent with US foreign policy under the ‘America First Agenda’.” Foreign aid amounting to approximately US$45 billion was distributed to India.
