According to US officials, these 295 Indians do not have valid documents to live in the US and reached there illegally. Earlier, the US had sent 104 Indians to India, which were brought to Amritsar.
It is being told that the US has a list of a total of 487 people who are suspected of being Indian and who are living in America without legitimate documents. All these are being verified, after which the process of sending India will be started.
Controversy and criticism on Deputy
Controversy has also arisen over the policy of sending Indians living illegally in America. Earlier, 104 Indians deployed were sent with handcuffs, objecting to this by the human rights organizations and the Indian community.
