US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he spoke to the leaders of Cambodia and Thailand amid growing tension between the two neighboring countries. He once again recalled the conflict between India and Pakistan, which was “successfully stopped.”
In a post on social media on Saturday, Trump said that he had talked to Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Manet “about stopping war with Thailand”.
Trump said that he also spoke to the acting Prime Minister of Thailand, Fummatha Vachayachai and “requested to end the ceasefire and the current war.”
Trump described the conversation with Vachachai as “very good” and said, “Like Cambodia, Thailand also wants a ceasefire and peace. After the conversation with both sides, the ceasefire, peace and prosperity seems natural. We will see soon!”
There were clashes on the border between Thailand and Cambodia for the third consecutive day, with more than 30 people killed and more than 1,50,000 people were displaced.
“I am trying to simplify a complex situation! Many people are being killed in this war, but it reminds me of the conflict between Pakistan and India, which was successfully stopped in this war.
Trump posted on social media, “Incidentally, we are talking on trade with both countries, but if the two countries are fighting among themselves, we do not want to compromise with them – and I have told them so!”
He said that after negotiating with the Thai leadership, “Cambodia could be talked to” Cambodia again on the basis of Thailand’s opinion and the ceasefire “. India started Operation Sindoor on 7 May, under which the terror structure was targeted in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir in response to the attacks in Pahalgam on 22 April, in which 26 civilians were killed.
On May 10, it was agreed to end the struggle between India and Pakistan for four days after drone and missile attacks from across the border.
Trump has repeatedly claimed that he has prevented the struggle between India and Pakistan.
However, India has been continuously saying that agreed to end enmity with Pakistan was made after direct talks between the Directorate General of Military Operations of the two armies (DGMOs).
