Trump’s new travel ban policy: 41 countries including Pakistan, Syria may affect

US President Donald Trump may issue strict travel restrictions for citizens of 41 countries under the new ban. This has been confirmed by Reuters. A total of 41 countries, including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, North Korea and Iran, will have an impact of the new rules.

According to the Reuters, on the condition of anonymity, an American official warned that the list could be changed and it has not yet been approved by the administration, including US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The draft of the list of 41 countries seen by Reuters is classified into three groups.

1st Class

The first group visa of 10 countries including Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Cuba and North Korea will be completely banned.

second tier

The second group will have five countries – Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar and South Sudan – partially suspended, which will affect tourist and student visa as well as some exceptions and other immigrant visas.

Third grade

The third category consists of a total of 26 countries including Belarus, Pakistan and Turkmenistan, and if their governments “do not try to overcome the deficiencies within 60 days, they will be considered a partial ban on issuing American visas,” the draft states.

Trump’s travel ban increased concerns

The step is reminiscent of the ban on travelers from seven Muslim-dominated countries during his first term by President Donald Trump, a policy that was repeated several times before being introduced by the Supreme Court in 2018.

Trump issued an executive order on 20 January, requiring an intensive security check of any foreigner to enter the US to find out the national security threats. The order directed many cabinet members to submit a list of countries by 21 March, with which the journey should be partially or completely suspended as their “test and screening data is insufficient.”
