Kinshasa: More than 50 people have died due to an unknown disease in the northwest region of Congo. Doctors present there and officials of the World Health Organization (WHO) have given information about this. Surge Nagalebeto, Medical Director, Bikoro Hospital and head of the Regional Monitoring Center, said that in most cases the difference between the appearance and death is just 48 hours, which is really worrying. This outbreak started on January 21 and so far 419 cases have been reported, out of which 53 people have died.
Number of sick people is increasing
Symptoms of this mysterious disease are flu -like flu and include high fever, high headache, cough and anemia. Many people died due to lack of timely treatment. As the number of sick people is increasing, the situation is becoming worrying. It is also difficult to reach medicines in many areas. Experts are constantly monitoring it.
Efforts to intensify prevention
Officials say the disease is contagious and the cause of its spread is being ascertained. The World Health Organization and local health teams have intensified efforts for treatment and infection prevention in affected areas. This wrath has become a serious challenge in the Congo.
