UN’s statement on Indo-Pak ceasefire.
After several days of military tension and clashes between India and Pakistan, there is ceasefire between the two countries and there is peace on the border. The strict action by India’s armed forces brought Pakistan to knees in no time. After this, India agreed to the ceasefire on Pakistan’s pleas. Now the statement has been issued by the spokesperson of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on this agreement between India and Pakistan. The spokesman has said that it is expected that the two countries will use the opportunity to deal with the pending issues.
Hopefully ceasefire will remain- UN
On the decision to stop the ceasefire between India and Pakistan and all kinds of military action, the UN general secretary said that we are in a better position. Spokesperson Stephen Dujarik said- “The agreement between India and Pakistan is maintained. I think we are in a better position than before. Hopefully this ceasefire will remain. We hope that both India and Pakistan will use this opportunity to resolve many of their pending issues.”
How did a ceasefire?
On April 22, 26 innocent people were killed by Pakistani militants in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. India had destroyed terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir in response to the Pahalgam attack. Since then, Pakistan has attacked India from Jammu and Kashmir to Gujarat with missiles, drones and fighter jets. However, the Indian Army has thwarted all Pakistan’s efforts with the help of air defense. After this, India took major action and destroyed several major Pakistani military bases including 11 airbase, air defense system, command and control center and radar sites of the Pakistani Air Force. In fear of India, Pakistan came to knees and appealed for peace after which there was a ceasefire between the two countries on 10 May. (input language)
