US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin Visits Ukraine
Kiev: On one hand, Russia is busy preparing for the BRICS Summit, while on the other hand, US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin has reached Kiev on a visit to Ukraine. Austin has reached Kiev at a time when Russia is continuously carrying out drone attacks in Ukraine. Amid the war, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on Western partners to continue providing military support for the war. At present, both Russia and Ukraine are attacking each other. Russia’s stance in recent times has been aggressive.
‘The international community stands with Ukraine’
US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin said on the social media site ‘X’ about his visit that his fourth visit shows that ‘America as well as the international community stands with Ukraine.’
The biggest conflict after World War II
President Zelensky is urging Western allies to support his so-called victory plan to end the nearly three-year war. It is Europe’s largest conflict since World War II and has cost thousands of lives on both sides.
What did Zelensky say?
President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video address Sunday evening that France, Lithuania, the Nordic countries and “many other allies” in the EU supported his plan. However, the most important country is the US, which is Ukraine’s largest military supplier.
Ukraine is getting American help
Let us also tell you here that America has once again come forward to help Ukraine. President Joe Biden has announced a $425 million arms package for Kiev. The package includes air defense systems, armored vehicles and other weapons. Biden will also hold a virtual meeting of Ukraine’s allies in November.
