On Wednesday, unidentified gunmen killed at least seven passengers aboard a bus in the restless Balochistan province of Pakistan. Officials said the gunmen targeted the passenger bus going from the provincial capital Quetta to Punjab province when she was passing through the Barkhan area.
According to the police, the gunmen stopped the bus by putting a blocker on the national highway, examined the identity cards of the passengers in it and forcibly took seven people to the nearby hill, after which the sound of bullets began to be heard shortly after.
Barkhan Deputy Commissioner of Police Waqar Khurshid Alam confirmed the incident and the deceased number. He said, “The seven people who were traveling in the bus were killed, they were all from Punjab province and were going to Lahore.”
On receiving information about the incident, the security forces arrived in the area and started a search operation to catch the killers. At present, no group has taken responsibility for the attack, but the ethnic Baloch terrorist groups regularly attack the people of neighboring Punjab.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti strongly condemned the attack and resolved to bring the criminals into the dock of justice.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also condemned the attack.
Zardari said, “The killing of innocent people is a cowardly and heinous act. Terrorists are enemies of peace and humanity. They want to disturb peace in Balochistan. “
At the same time, Sharif said, “Innocent citizens will not be sacrificed. The government and security forces are actively working to completely eliminate terrorism from the country. ”
