Peshawar: An official warning has been issued to government employees in Pakistan’s northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. It has been warned that they should not take part in the protest proposed by the party of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday and should not use the government machinery, otherwise they will have to face serious consequences for this.

The Home Ministry, through a letter, directed the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to ensure that “state machinery, equipment, officers and funds” are not used “for political opposition by any political party”. Should be done. Government employees were informed of the warning some time after the letter was issued. Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General (IG) Akhtar Hayat Gandapur has written to regional police officers (RPOs) directing them not to take part in political activities.
