125 Crocodiles had to die: Nattapak Khumakar, resident of Lamphun, who has become famous for Crocodile Crocodile Was killed by electrocution.
The reason behind this is that there was a storm here due to which the walls of his farm became weak. The wall was about to collapse. Due to the breach of the wall, crocodiles could spread to the surrounding areas, posing a serious threat to the lives of common people.
Nattapak tried hard to secure the farm, but with no alternative location available he had to take this drastic step.
Nattapak said, My family and I discussed it and realized that if the wall had collapsed, we could not ensure the safety of the people. To save their lives we had to kill the crocodiles.
Nattapak still has 500 small crocodiles
This was the toughest decision of his life, because he had been rearing these crocodiles for the last 17 years.
Typhoon Yagi, the most powerful storm of this year, caused massive devastation in Thailand and many areas of South-East Asia. Flooding and heavy rains in northern areas of Thailand affected thousands of homes and killed at least nine people.
Nattapak still has 500 small crocodiles, ranging from one to four feet long. Crocodile farming in Thailand is a profitable business, and there are about 1,100 registered crocodile farms in the country, generating a business of over Rs 1,700 crore every year. However, the Saimei Crocodile is an endangered species, and needs protection.
