Myanmar official said thanks on getting help under Operation Brahma
On February 28 in Myanmar, the disastrous earthquake caused havoc. Buildings fell throughout the country, roads exploded and thousands of people have died. Meanwhile, India has run Operation Brahma to help Myanmar. Myanmar is being helped through this operation. Five aircraft of the Indian Army have been engaged in this work. Along with this, naval ships have also left with relief material.

Myanmar’s military government on Saturday said on government television that the death toll from the devastating earthquake has exceeded 1,600. The military government had reported the deceased number 1,002 some time ago. The deceased number was stated to be 1,644 after the deleted bodies were removed from the debris, due to the havoc in the broad area, the deceased number is expected to increase.

Help is not reaching due to loss in airport
The number of people injured in the earthquake increased to 3,408, while the number of missing people increased to 139. Rescue operations continue in Mandalay and capital Neepeita after the earthquake. Although teams and equipment have been sent from other countries, rescue operations are being interrupted due to the damaged airports in these cities and inappropriate to land.

What is Operation Brahma?
The Ministry of External Affairs said in the name of Operation Brahma that Brahma is the god of creation, at a time when we are extending the hand of helping the people of Myanmar and Myanmar for the reconstruction of our country after destruction, the operation has been named Brahma. Under Operation Brahma, an aircraft took 15 tonnes of relief material from Hindon Air Force Base at around 3 am. It reached Yangon at around 8 am Indian time. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Saturday that Indian Ambassador to Myanmar was present to take relief material and handed it over to the Chief Minister of Yangon. The aircraft left for Myanmar with search and rescue personnel and equipment as well as dogs. India has deployed 2C17 Globemaster and 3C 130J Hercules of the Air Force in Operation Brahma.

What did India help?
Apart from Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR), India has also sent a team of 118 members, which will build a 60 -bed temporary hospital in Myanmar. Indian Ambassador Abhay Thakur sent the first batch of relief material on 29 March, including personal care, food items, sleeping bags, solar lamps and kitchen utensils. Under Operation Brahma, the personnel of the federal disaster contingency force are being deployed with earthquake rescue equipment such as strong concrete cutters, drill machines, hammers, plasma cutting machines etc. to provide assistance to the neighboring country.
