Kuwait Citizenship Decision: Citizenship of more than 42,000 people has been canceled recently in Kuwait, causing an atmosphere of anxiety and instability in the country. The action has been taken under the leadership of the new Amir Mishhal al-Ahmad al-Zaber al-Sabah, who has taken several drastic steps since assuming power in May 2024.

Government tightened the screws on opponents

Amir dissolved the Parliament, calling democracy a threat to the state and announced amendment to the Constitution. The government claims that the step has been taken against the foreigners who illegally acquired Kuwaiti citizenship. However, critics say this action is a violation of human rights and this may increase social instability.

Kuwait took a big decision

Meanwhile, Kuwait has also decided to remove about one lakh foreign migrants living illegally from the country. The government has stopped the fine-domination scheme and is proceeding on the plan to deport illegal residents. Kuwaiti persons or companies who provide employment to illegal people will also have to face allegations.

The government has started a helpline to inform people about fake citizens. Overall, these harsh steps in Kuwait have promoted social and political instability in the country, which leads to an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty in the public.
