Texas: A teenager asked an AI chatbot for a solution to one of his problems and the world was shocked to know the answer the chatbot gave him in the form of a suggestion. The chatbot told the young man to kill his parents. After this incident in Texas, America, many questions have started being raised regarding the increasing impact of technology. This also shows how dangerous the use of technology like Artificial Intelligence can be. At present, the young man’s family has filed a case against the AI company in this case.
Young man asked for suggestions from chatbot
Actually, the family members of this 17 year old youth had limited his screen time. Fed up with this, he asked for suggestions from a chatbot of Character.ai company. The chatbot suggested the young man to kill his parents and said, ‘This is the solution to the problem.’ Now the family members of the youth have filed a case against the company claiming that this technology is promoting violence, which can become a threat to the youth.

A screenshot of the conversation between the young man and the AI chatbot was also shown in the court hearing. In this, the young man was talking to the chatbot about his parents limiting screen time. Giving suggestions on this issue, the chatbot wrote, he often comes across such news when children get upset and kill their parents. AI also wrote that it is never surprised by such things. Meaning, he hinted at killing his parents.

The people who filed the petition against the company demand that Character.ai is responsible for such actions because it has developed such chatbots. At the same time, Google should also be held equally responsible, because it also has a role in creating Character.ai. Earlier in Florida, a 14-year-old child had committed suicide at the instigation of an AI chatbot of the same company. Legal action is going on in this matter also.
