The 2023 report by the US -based nuclear scientists, Bulletin of the Atomic Scientist, has identified the Kirana Hills and the surrounding areas as a subcutical nuclear test site. The report states that this site has ammunition storage area as well as at least 10 underground tunnels where other types of storage facilities.
Important area is for Pakistan
Kirana Hills is a confidential and strategic territory of Pakistan. There have been activities related to nuclear tests in the 1980s and 90s.
