Prince al-Valid bin Khalid bin Talal
Prince Al-Valid bin Khalid bin Talal of Saudi Arabia has turned 36 years old. Recently he celebrated his 36th birthday, while he is still in a coma. Al-Valid bin Khalid bin Talal is called the “Sleeping Prince” of Saudi Arabia. In fact, he was seriously injured in a car accident. Since then he is unconscious and has been in a coma for about 20 years.
According to Saudi Arabia media, Prince Al-Valid bin Khalid bin Talal suffered a serious head injury in a road accident in 2005. He is in a coma since then, he has been kept alive by machines in King Abdulziz Medical City in Riyadh.
Who is ‘Sleeping Prince’?
Prince Al-Walid bin Khalid bin Talal, a member of the Saudi royal family, is often called ‘Sleeping Prince’ due to his prolonged coma. He is the great -grandson of King Abdulziz, the founder of modern Saudi Arabia and grandson of Prince Talal bin Abdulziz. Although not directly related to the present king, Salman bin Abdulziz is his great -grandfather.
Despite the doctors advised to stop life support, Prince Al-Walid’s father Prince Khalid bin Talal al-Saud refused. He sincerely hope that his son will be cured. The father allegedly said that if God wanted him to die in an accident, he would have been in the grave. He decided to continue taking care of his son.
Consciousness has not come for 20 years
In 2019, there were reports that Prince Al-Walid showed small symptoms of action, such as raising a finger or turning the head, but did not make them fully conscious. After his birthday on 18 April, his condition on social media has again caught people’s attention, in which people are sharing pictures of prince surrounded by loved ones.
