American industrialist Elon Musk and newly elected President Donald Trump.
Washington: Elon Musk has made a big announcement regarding H-1B visa. He says he can even go to war to save the H-1B visa program. After this announcement by Elon Musk, he has also got the support of newly elected President Donald Trump. A day earlier, the billionaire businessman had vowed to go to war to protect the program to bring skilled foreign professionals to the US. Trump has chosen Musk to lead his Government Efficiency Ministry along with Indian-American technology entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
Musk argued last week that his technology companies like SpaceX and Tesla needed foreign professionals. On Friday, Musk reprimanded a user on ‘X’ who had used one of his videos to attack his stance on the visa program. “I am in America with many of the important people who built SpaceX, Tesla, and hundreds of other companies that make America strong because of the H1B program,” Musk wrote on ‘X’.
Trump took Musk’s side
After this, on Saturday, Trump took Musk’s side and said that he fully supports the program which is opposed by some of his supporters. He told the New York Post newspaper, “I have always liked visas, I have always been in favor of visas.” That’s why we have them.” He added, ”I have been a believer in the H-1B visa. I have used it many times. It’s a great program.” The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to hire foreign professionals in specialized occupations that require professional or technology expertise.
