Afghanistan Women Situation
Kabul: The Taliban has said it will close all national and foreign non-governmental groups (NGOs) employing women in Afghanistan. This step has come after the Taliban had prohibited all NGOs from providing employment to Afghan women two years ago. The Taliban has reportedly taken this step because it says that women do not wear the Islamic hijab properly.
Will not be able to work in Afghanistan
In a letter posted on social media platform ‘X’, the Finance Ministry warned that non-compliance of the recent order would lead to such NGOs losing their license to operate in Afghanistan. The ministry said it is responsible for registering, coordinating, leading and monitoring all the activities of national and foreign organizations. According to the letter, the government once again orders the closure of all types of work for women in institutions outside the control of the Taliban.
