Sirimavo Bhandarnayake was the world’s first woman PM
The world’s first woman was PM Sirimavo Bhandarnayake. He was born on 17 April 1916 in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka. She became Sri Lanka and the first woman Prime Minister of the world in 1960. She left the post in 1965 but in 1970-77 and 1994-2000 she was again PM.
Sirimavo Bhandaranayke held the post of PM 3 times and was the President of Sri Lanka Freedom Party from 1960 to 1969. He was born in a large clan and was educated in Catholic.
