Yemen’s Houthis release prisoners of war.

Red Cross Dubai: After the Israel-Hamas ceasefire, the hearts of Yemen’s Houthis have melted. He has released a large number of prisoners of war unconditionally. However, other employees working for the United Nations have been taken hostage. According to reports, Yemen’s Houthi rebels unilaterally released 153 prisoners of war on Saturday. Giving this information, the International Committee of the Red Cross said that Houthi rebels had indicated on Friday night that they were planning to release the prisoners.

The Houthis took this decision when after the ceasefire in Gaza between Israel and Hamas, hostages and prisoners are being released by both the sides. In such a situation, it is being considered a part of efforts to reduce tension after the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza Strip.

UN personnel captured by Houthis

However, after the release, the Houthis captured seven other Yemeni personnel working for the United Nations (UN), which has expressed displeasure. The Red Cross said it welcomed this unilateral release “as another positive step towards promoting a negotiated settlement” to end the long-running war. However, the Houthis have not given any reason behind taking the UN employees hostage. Everyone is surprised by this. (AP)
