Jerusalem: October 18 (AP) Hamas has finally admitted that its leader and chief Yahya Sinwar was killed in an IDF attack, 24 hours after the Israeli army claimed. Earlier, Hamas had been rejecting the Israeli claim. Hamas had also claimed on Thursday that its leader was alive. But now Khalil al-Hayya, a top political leader of Hamas, has officially confirmed the killing of group leader Yahya Sinwar on Friday.
Let us tell you that Al-Hayya, in a televised statement, reiterated the Palestinian terrorist group’s stance that it will not release the Israeli hostages captured in the group’s attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, until a year has passed in Gaza. There is no ceasefire in the ongoing war. “Those prisoners will not be returned to you until the attack on Gaza ends and there is a withdrawal from Gaza,” he said. Hamas Chief Yahya Sinwar was killed in an attack by Israeli forces on Wednesday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had said that our army has settled the score with the perpetrators of October 7. However, he also said that the war against Hamas is not over yet and it will continue until the hostages are released and other terrorists do not surrender.
