Seoul, 2 February (IANS). 4 out of 10 foreigners who came to treat South Korea believe that Korea’s culture influenced their decision to come here.
According to a survey by Korea Health Industry Development Institute, more than 41% of people admitted that they decided to get treatment here due to Korean culture.
According to the report of the Yonhap News Agency, the survey was conducted in 2023 on 1,500 foreigners undergoing treatment in Korea hospitals. The figure was 24.3% in 2021, but in 2022 it increased to 49.7% in 2022, when the number of foreign patients started increasing.
According to countries, about 70% of patients from South-East Asia and Middle East described Korean culture as their decision, while in patients from Russia this figure was only 20%.
With this, South Korea launched its annual Winter Shopping Festival last month, which will last for 45 days. The purpose of this ‘Korea Grand Sale’ is to attract foreign tourists and promote tourism during the cold season.
This cell will run till 28 February, which will provide huge discounts on flight, hotels and shopping. According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Visit Korea Committee, 1,680 Korean companies are participating in it this year.
10 South Korean Airlines, including Korean Air and Asiana Airlines, are offering a discount of up to 94% on 214 routes. At the same time, foreign airlines are offering up to 31% discounts on flights from China, Hong Kong and Japan to South Korea.
