Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) sales declined by 13 per cent to 7,874 units in April. Releasing the sales figures for April 2022, the company said that it had sold 9072 vehicles in the same month a year ago. However, the company’s exports increased to 2,042 units last month from 970 units in April 2021.
The company’s director (sales and marketing) Yuichi Murata said while customer demand remains strong, supply chain issues remain a challenge for the auto industry. Because of this, its ability to meet the increasing demand is being affected.
Honda Cars is hopeful that the supply chain problem will be resolved soon and the balance between demand and supply will be achieved. Murata said that the Honda City e-hybrid model has received an overwhelming response from the market. This shows that electric hybrid models have their place in the market. We are going to introduce this model on May 4.
