Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari reached Parliament today in a new technology green hydrogen-powered car. Gadkari had said in a statement in January that he would be seen in a car on the streets of Delhi to encourage people to use hydrogen fuel.
The name of the new technology vehicle in which Gadkari reached Parliament is Toyota Mirai. Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the Government of India has started a mission of ₹ 3000 crore and soon we will become a hydrogen exporting country. Wherever coal is used in the country, green hydrogen will be used.
He further said that to become self-reliant, we have introduced Green Hydrogen. Now the production of green hydrogen will start in the country, imports will be curbed and new employment opportunities will be created. Toyota recently launched Mirai, making it India’s first Hydrogen Fuel Cell EV (FCEV).
Regarding the Mirai, Toyota claims that this car can deliver a range of 650 km with a full tank. It is said that this car is completely eco-friendly and does not emit any other emissions except water. The biggest problem with electric vehicles is the long charging time, but Mirai eliminates this problem, as it doesn’t take long to refill hydrogen.
