Nothing is going right for Electric Two-Wheelers these days. On the one hand, the incidents of fire in their batteries are increasing rapidly. On the other hand, the company that made them has recalled many models. Meanwhile, the government has decided to make changes in the process of testing the battery, battery management and cell used in EV. Let us inform that in a month, half a dozen cases of electric two-wheeler fire have been reported.
New rules will be issued for EV companies soon
According to sources related to the matter, the government is in talks with all the companies manufacturing electric two-wheelers in which incidents of fire have come to the fore. Companies like OLA, Okinawa, Jitendra Electric and PureEV have been instructed to prevent two-wheeler fires. The government may soon issue instructions to EV companies to follow the new rules. Some shortcomings of the battery were causing the fire
Live Hindustan spoke to YouTuber auto expert Amit Khare (Ask CarGuru) about the incidents of EV battery fire. He said that all the batteries used in EVs come with plastic cabinets. In such a situation, when they are hot, then the plastic melts. Along with this, the circuits attached to it also start melting. This greatly increases the risk of fire. Even though the battery is fully packed, it still discharges heat. When the battery gets hot, this heat discharge starts increasing rapidly.

Fire accident affecting sales
Expert Amit Khare said that due to the news of continuous fire in the electric vehicle, fear is sitting in the minds of the people about them. This is affecting their sales as well. However, millions of EVs are being sold a year. Whereas the cases of fire in these are much less than 1%. In such a situation, Indians are ready to take such a risk. Anyway, the option of insurance always remains with the people. Most of the e-vehicles are parked outside the house, so the risk of a bigger accident is averted.
