Jeep India has started booking for its SUV Meridian on Tuesday. Its production has started at the company’s factory located in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra. Jeep India is a part of the automotive conglomerate Stlantis.
The company said that customers can book the Meridian on the Jeep India dealership network or through the company’s website with a down payment of Rs 50,000. The delivery of this vehicle will start in June.
Jeep India said that it has started production of the Meridian at the manufacturing facility of the joint venture established with Tata Motors. The Meridian has seven seats and the SUV is powered by a 2-litre turbo diesel engine. There are six-speed manual and nine-speed automatic gearbox transmission options.
Roland Bouchara, CEO and Managing Director, Stelantis India, said that the Meridian is the third new model to be manufactured by Jeep in India after 2021. He said that it has been designed keeping in mind the needs of the customers and the condition of the Indian road.
