Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that in the year 2021, more than 1.98 crore challans worth Rs 1,898.73 crore have been issued by the authorities in cases of traffic violations across the country. Gadkari told the Lok Sabha in a written reply to a question that as per the centralized database of the government, 2,15,328 cases of rash and negligent driving and road violence were registered in 2021.
According to the data given in the reply, maximum number of challans were deducted in Delhi, whose number was 71,89,824. After this, 36,26,037 challans were issued in Tamil Nadu and 17,41,932 in Kerala. Gadkari also informed that the authorities have issued more than 40 lakh challans worth Rs 417 crore in traffic violation cases across the country between January 1 and March 15, 2022.
How to Apply for Learning Driving License
Go to the Parivahan Saarthi portal and select the state. Click on ‘New Learner License’, after which a new page will open. Here you will have to fill personal information about yourself, your address, phone number etc. Then the scanned copy of the photo and sign will have to be uploaded. After that choose the date for the test. The last step is to pay the fee. Even after the online process you will have to go to the RTO for the test. After a few days, you will be able to download the learning license online from the website.
How to Apply for Permanent Driving License
You can apply for a Permanent Driving License within 30-180 days of getting a Learning Driving License. For a permanent license, you will have to go through the same process as you have gone through for the learning license. Login to Sarathi Portal, Click on New Driving Licence, New page will open, Fill the details here and select the date for Test and deposit the fee. Then on the chosen date, you will have to go to the RTO and give the test of Permanent DL, after which the driving license will come to the address given by you.
How to know whether invoice has been deducted or not
Go to https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in website. Select the option of Check Challan Status. You will get the option of Challan Number, Vehicle Number and Driving License Number (DL). Select the option of Vehicle Number. Fill the required information asked and click on ‘Get Detail’. Now the challan status will appear.
How to fill traffic challan online
Go to https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in/. Fill the required details and captcha related to the challan and click on Get Details. A new page will open, on which the details of the challan will be given. Find the challan you want to pay. Online payment option will appear along with challan, click on it. Fill in the payment related information. Confirm payment. Now your online challan has been filled.
