This time, a fire broke out in an electric scooter made by Hyderabad-based startup Pure EV, raising concerns about the safety of the electric vehicle.

The video of Pure EV’s scooter catching fire has gone viral. The incident of fire took place near Mathur toll plaza in Manjampakkam, a residential area of North Chennai. In the 26-second video, a red colored electric scooter can be seen standing on the side of the road in flames. This is the fourth such incident in four days.

On March 28, a fire broke out in an Ola S1 electric scooter in Pune. In the video which is more than half a minute long, the midnight blue color Ola S1 Pro can be seen in flames. Ola Electric in its statement on the incident said that it is investigating the incident. The company assured that it will take appropriate action after the completion of the investigation in the coming days. Ola S1 Pro was launched last year as the company’s first electric scooter.

How safe is a lithium-ion battery?
Apart from this, a recent incident of fire in Okinawa two-wheeler has also come to light in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. After the incident with the Ola scooter, news agency Reuters reported in a report that lithium-ion batteries, whether used in electric vehicles or electronic devices, can catch fire if they are not properly constructed, damaged. or the software that operates the battery is not designed correctly.
Government ordered inquiry
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) has ordered a probe into the incident of fire in an Ola electric scooter in Dhanori area of Pune. Secretary Giridhar Armane has given this information. Armane told Business Today TV that the government has ordered a probe into the fire incident in the Ola electric scooter. Science and technology experts will investigate the incident and report. Sources said that the government is very serious about the safety of vehicles.
