For the past several days, there has been discussion that Tata Motors may buy Ford’s manufacturing plant in Sanand. This plant is also important because it has a production capacity of 2.4 lakh units per annum. The sales of Tata Motors vehicles are increasing continuously, so now the company plans to increase the production capacity. With the increase in production, the problems faced by Tata customers in getting deliveries due to semiconductor shortage will go away to a great extent.
According to a report by Autocar India, Tata Motors will increase its production capacity to manufacture 5 lakh cars in a year. The company is targeting to sell around 40,000 cars per month in the first few months of FY 22-23. It plans to take this figure to 50,000 units later. The company will also launch new variants and facelifts of the existing model in 2022.
