Hyundai is recalling more than 2 lakh Sonata vehicles of its 2013-2014 model due to a major fault in the US. The company has recalled these vehicles in view of the risk of fuel leaks and engine fire. This is the second time that the company is recalling Sonata vehicles due to faults.
Apart from this, Tesla has also decided to recall 1.30 lakh units of its Model-X, Model-Y, Model-S and Model-3 in the US. The recalled models include cars sold in 2021 and 2022. According to the country’s auto safety regulator, the cars are being recalled due to overheating of the CPU of the infotainment system.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the central touchscreen display in Tesla cars has malfunctioned, causing the infotainment central processing unit (CPU) to overheat during preparation or process of fast-charging. This makes it difficult to view the rearview camera images, gear selection, windshield in the central screen that interfere with visibility control settings and warning lights.
