The Gautam Buddh Nagar traffic police has issued over 3,600 e-challans to motorists after Holi for violating traffic rules, driving in the wrong lane, jumping red lights, not wearing a helmet or seat belt. Police officials have given this information.
He said that during a special drive to prevent violation of traffic rules on the roads of Noida and Greater Noida, e-challans have been issued on the instructions of Police Commissioner Alok Singh.
A police spokesperson said that 3,677 vehicles have been processed for e-challans for non-violation of the rules. During the operation, police officers were deployed at all intersections and other important places where they have taken action.
The spokesman said that in the challans issued, the two-wheeler drivers were not wearing helmets or were riding triple on a motorcycle or scooter. In addition, the drivers were not wearing seat belts. Action has also been taken in cases of wrong lane driving or riding, parking vehicles in no-parking zones, faulty number plates, using mobile phones while driving, jumping red lights, etc. The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police appealed to the people to follow the traffic rules so that they can save themselves and their families from being victims of road accidents.
