The Railways has announced new rules by changing the rules for online ticket booking, under which maximum number of tickets can be booked in a month.

Indian Railways has decided to increase the limit of booking a maximum of 6 tickets in a month to 12 tickets from a user ID that is not linked to Aadhaar, as per the new rules. On the other hand, this limit for user ID linked with Aadhaar has been increased from booking 12 tickets to 24 tickets. It is clear that after linking Aadhaar with railway link, passengers are getting more benefits.
What were the earlier rules?
Till now, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) used to allow booking of only six tickets in a month without Aadhar card linked account, which was increased to 12, whereas, 12 tickets booked in 1 month with Aadhaar linked account. This has been increased to 24. On this important decision of the Railways, the Railway Officer issued a statement saying that this decision of the Railways will bring relief to the passengers who travel by train frequently. Along with this, those people will also get a lot of benefits, who book tickets for multiple family members from the same account.
