Actually, the central government is now going to give gifts to all PF holders. EPFO, a government organization that deducts PF money from salary, is now going to transfer interest money to the bank account of PF holders very soon.
According to media reports, by June 30 this year, EPFO will transfer the interest money to the bank accounts of all PF holders. Let us tell you that more than 6 crore employed employees will benefit from this initiative of EPFO. No official announcement has been made by EPFO yet. Let us tell you that the Central Government had announced to give 8.1 percent interest to PF employees in the financial year 2021-22. This was like a setback for the PF holders. If you look at the reports, for the first time in the last 40 years, the Central Government has announced to give such low interest.
Interest paid from 2015 to 2021
In the financial year 2019-20, EPFO had sent 8.4 percent interest money to the employees. After this, EPFO got 8.5 percent interest to the employees in the financial year 2020-21 as well, while let us tell you that in the year 2018-19, 8.65 percent interest was given to all the PF holders. In 2017-18 also, EPFO had given 8.55 percent interest to the employees. In 2016-17, 8.65% and in 2015-16, 8.8% interest went to the employees from EPFO.
