New Delhi. These days the days of all the aviation companies are not going well. Last year Air India was bought by the Tata Group and now GoFirst Airlines is also facing the threat of bankruptcy. Due to this, the difficulties of Go-First Airlines have increased once again. The airline had to cancel its flights till May 9 due to non-delivery of engines by engine supplier Pratt & Whitney. Earlier the company had stopped the flights only for three days. GoFirst Airlines is currently facing a big financial crisis.
For information, let us tell you that in the notice by DGCA, GoFirst said that they have filed an application with the NCLT under section 10 of the Insolvency Bankruptcy Code. Airlines have decided to cancel their flights for three days from May 3. And the airlines will take a decision after further review of the outcome arising out of the NCLT order. Along with this, the airline company GoFirst also informed the DGCA that the airlines have suspended ticket sales till May 15. And will refund the money of the passengers who have booked the tickets or will work to reschedule the date of the journey further.
The non-doing thing is that after studying this answer of GoFirst, DGCA has ordered to issue the refund of passengers till the last date fixed under the existing regulatory rules. Apart from this, DGCA said that it is engaged in efforts to minimize the inconvenience caused to passengers due to GoFirst’s decision to cancel flights without notice.
