New Delhi, 9 May (IANS). According to a letter issued by Assocham on Friday, a consistent, innovation-lead ecosystem is needed to introduce the full potential of Indian enterprises, which promote competition and reduce compliance burden.
Highlighting the importance of coordinated efforts between the Center and the states to help the MSMEs in India’s Economic Architecture and to help them flourish, the apex industry body has released a knowledge paper titled ‘Ease of Doing Business in the Indian States’.
This paper recognizes the needs of addressing operational challenges and including the best practices from all over the world.
A major recommendation in the knowledge paper emphasizes the role of the building and the approval process of the construction, the labor and faculty approvals and the third party’s private professionals in the fire approval.
Specific recommendations have also been highlighted to streamline the process, ‘No Objection Certificate’ and to rationalize import-export regulations.
Assocham General Secretary Manish Singhal said, “To realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of developed India, policy making in the central government needs to be supplemented with implementation in states. Intensive consultation with stakeholders, review of policy structure and analysis of issues in the implementation at the ground level prepared the basis for this knowledge paper.”
He said that the paper has explained the state-specific issues in the paper and demanded specific interventions that reflect the governance models and economic conditions of each region.

According to the paper, Gujarat has planned to recycle 100 percent treatment waste water by 2030, a perfect example of business development that fulfills environmental responsibility.

“This report mentions many more excellent exercises that work as a model for others,” Assocham said in a 52-position knowledge paper prepared from the technical input and analytics guidance of the Technical Input and Convergence Foundation.
It has identified major priority areas.
