Passenger vehicles had good sales in April 2025.
Maruti Suzuki India has sold a total of 1,79,791 vehicles in the month of April. On an annual basis, it has recorded an increase of 7 percent. Giving this information on Thursday, the company said that a total of 1,68,089 units or vehicles were sold in the same period last year. According to PTI news, the company said that the sales of its total passenger vehicles in the domestic market rose slightly to 1,38,704 units, compared to 1,37,952 units in the same month a year ago.
According to the news, the sale of mini segment cars including Alto and S-SCOs declined from 11,519 units to 6,332 units in April last year. The sales of compact cars including Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and WagonR increased from 56,953 units to units a year ago in the same month. Brezza, Ertiga, Grand Vitara and XL6 sold 59,022 units last month, compared to 56,553 units in April last year.
Mahindra & Mahindra sales increased by 19%
Mahindra & Mahindra Limited said on Thursday that in April 2025, the total auto sales increased by 19 percent on an annual basis and it has increased to 84,170 units. Last month, sales of utility vehicles in the domestic market increased by 28 percent to 52,330 units in the passenger vehicle segment, as compared to a year ago it was 41,008 units in the same period, which is 28 percent more. M&M said in regulatory filing that domestic sales of commercial vehicles were 22,989 units.
TVS sales increased by 16 percent
The total sales of the TVS Motor Company in April increased by 16 percent to 4,43,896 units on a year-on-year basis. The company sold 3,83,615 units in April 2024. The company said in a statement that the sales of total two -wheelers recorded a 15 percent increase, which increased from 3,74,592 units in April 2024 to 4,30,330 units in April 2025. Last month, domestic two-wheeler sales increased by 7 per cent to 3,23,647 units from year to year, compared to 3,01,449 units in the same period a year ago.
Sale of Tata Motors also decreased
Tata Motors Limited recorded a total sales of 72,753 units in April 2025. The company reported the total sales of 77,521 units during April 2024. The company said in a regulatory filing that in April 2024, the total domestic sales fell by 7 percent to 70,963 units in April 2024. The total passenger vehicle (PV) sales, including EV, fell 5 percent to 45,532 units from 47,983 units in the same period a year ago. PV sales including EV in the domestic market declined 6 percent to 45,199 units against 47,883 units this month last year. The company said that its total commercial vehicle (CV) sales last month reduced from 8 percent to 27,221 units in April 2024 from 29,538 units.
