Food delivery platform Zomato is now set to start delivery in just 10 minutes. For this, he is in talks with many restaurant and cloud kitchen companies. However, the talks are in the early stages. Currently, he is planning to launch it through his own kitchen and warehouse. However, no official statement has come out from the company about this yet.
According to the information, the company can start this service from April under a pilot program in some cities. Gurgaon may be the first city. Let us tell you that Zomato started delivery in 10 to 15 minutes at four locations in Bengaluru last year. On the lines of this, it is now planning to start delivery facility in other cities also in 10 minutes. However, in some places, the company provides the service of delivery in 20 minutes.
The food-delivery company is considering several plans to do so. For this, it is also looking at using the warehouse for business-to-business supplies of its restaurant partners. Additionally, it is looking at a model in which restaurants can directly supply select menu items. After the December quarter, Zomato had said that HyperPure served nine cities.
Hyperpure is an initiative by Zomato to provide fresh, hygienic, high quality ingredients and supplies to restaurants. It has increased its investment in the business since listing in July. The convenience of ultra-fast delivery or 10-30 minutes delivery has the user base of middle to high income households, who want quick delivery of packaged food and other grocery items.
Last year, the company’s founder Dipinder Goyal had said that it would invest only in businesses with a market cap of more than $10 billion. For the time being, the stock of Zomato has declined. It has come down 55 percent from the all-time high at the issue price. At one point its stock went up to Rs 150. On Thursday, it closed at Rs 80.
