Two flights will be operated for Medina, each of which will be able to sit in 324 passengers.
Domestic airline SpiceJet said on Tuesday that it would resume Haj flights from Srinagar with two services for Madina on 14 May. Srinagar was one of the 32 airports that were temporarily closed for civil flights in view of military conflict between India and Pakistan. According to PTI news, the airport was reopened for civil operations on Monday. Meanwhile, the airline will resume flights to Srinagar from Tuesday.
324 passengers will be able to sit in each
According to the news, the airline said in a release that SpiceJet will resume its Haj 2025 operation from Srinagar, in which two flights will be operated for Madina using Wide-Body Airbus A340 aircraft, each of which will be able to sit in each of 324 passengers. The airline said it will provide the facility of traveling about 15,500 Haj pilgrims this year. Earlier this month, SpiceJet said that it would operate 45 Haj flights connecting Srinagar, Guwahati and Kolkata to Madina and Jeddah in the first phase.
When Umrah is starting
This year Haj is going to start between June 4 to June 9, 2025, which depends on the appearance of the moon. If the moon is not seen then this date can change. According to the Saudi Arabia Ministry, international pilgrims will be allowed to perform Umrah from 11 June 2025. At the same time, this time in 2025, India’s quota for Haj is 175,025 i.e. a total of 175,025 people will visit Haj from India.
Earlier, on May 10, the Jammu and Kashmir Haj Committee had decided to cancel all chartered flights by 14 May due to heavy military clash between India and Pakistan. Pilgrims have been advised to be patient and wait for the next instructions.
