The decline in the domestic stock market is showing no sign of stopping. On Monday, the market started trading with a big fall. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex was trading at a level of 76,862.07 with a huge fall of 516.84 points around 10 am, while the National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty was also seen trading at a level of 23,259.95, falling by 171.55 points. In today’s trading, all the sectoral indices are trading in the red. Oil and gas is down 1.5 percent and realty index is down 3 percent. On Nifty, Apollo Hospitals, Adani Enterprises, Grasim Industries, Adani Ports, HDFC Bank are major losers, while IndusInd Bank, Britannia Industries, Axis Bank, TCS, HUL are among gainers.

Sensex fell by more than 800 this morning

Earlier today at 9.15 am, the market opened with a sharp decline. The Sensex opened at 76,629.90 against the previous close of 77,378.91 and touched an intraday low of 76,535.24, falling by over 800 points. Nifty 50 opened at 23,195.40 against the previous close of 23,431.50 and fell by more than 250 points to 23,172.70.

Today’s trend in Asian market

Asian stock markets are in the red on Monday, as stronger-than-expected US employment data heavily influenced the outlook for interest rates. The Australian share market is currently trading sharply lower on Monday, extending losses over the past two sessions, following broadly negative signals from Wall Street on Friday. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index is well below the 8,200.00 level with weakness in financial and technology shares. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index fell 117.90 points, or 1.42 percent, to 8,176.20, after hitting a low of 8,170.00. The broader All Ordinaries index fell 126.20 points, or 1.48 percent, to 8,417.50.
