PM Mudra Yojana: Under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), started seven years ago, a loan of Rs 18.60 lakh crore has been disbursed to 34.42 crore beneficiaries so far. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has given this information on the occasion of completion of seven years of this scheme.
Nirmala Sitharaman said that the Mudra Yojana has helped in creating a conducive environment for small businesses and creating crores of employment opportunities at the grassroots level. One special thing is that more than 68 percent of the loans have been sanctioned to women and 22 percent of the loans have been given to new entrepreneurs.
Congratulating all the people who will be benefited under this scheme, Nirmala Sitharaman said, “With 51 percent of the loans sanctioned so far to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, this scheme implements social justice on the ground and the Prime Minister’s Sabka Saath Sabka Vishwas embraces the concept in true sense.
