The news is disturbing for the non-NET researchers in the constituent colleges of Allahabad University. They will not be able to get fellowship (ugc non net fellowship for phd students). In this regard, UGC Under Secretary Dr. Anju Mohan Gehlot has written a letter to the Registrar. On March 30, the UGC has issued a letter directing that non-NET fellowship, MPhil, PhD, is given only to research scholars under a professor working in a central university. and not to the University belonging to the Central University.
It may be noted that the then Vice-Chancellor Prof. RL Hanglu had approved PhD in colleges. After this, in the academic session 2019-20, PhD admissions were taken in colleges through crates. Non-NET scholars get fellowship every month in IVI. But students from colleges taking admission in non-NET PhD were being denied fellowship. The research scholars and colleges had demanded from the university administration for fellowship. Dean CDC Prof. Pankaj Kumar started the exercise. On the other hand, the UGC has issued a letter banning the grant of fellowship to the non-NET researchers of the college. PRO Dr. Jaya Kapoor said that the university will follow the instructions of the UGC.
