Under the process of appointment of teachers in elementary schools of the state, a total of 1377 candidates were finally selected on April 18 in the missed planning units. However, out of these, only 932 candidates were given appointment letters. The Education Department has currently banned the finally selected 445 candidates from receiving appointment letters. This ban has been imposed on suspicion of fake certificate of passing their teacher eligibility test. Now their detailed investigation is being done.
According to the information received from the Education Department, out of about four and a half hundred candidates whose TET pass is under doubt, 223 candidates are from Gopalganj alone. Under the special cycle, 573 candidates have been selected in this district, out of which only 350 have been given appointment letters. The TET pass verification of the remaining 223 candidates is going on. The team of officials of the education department of the district is calling the concerned candidate and conducting the investigation in front of them. This is going on everyday. On the other hand, 80, 80 in Motihari and Bettiah, 38 in Madhubani, 15 in Nalanda, 3 in Muzaffarpur and Nawada, 2 in Bhojpur, one each in Katihar, Saran, Sitamarhi are under scrutiny. The concerned District Education Administration will send its report to the Directorate of Primary Education of the Education Department after examining all these. At the same time, in Motihari, the TET pass of 33 out of 80 teacher candidates who came under the scanner has been declared fake.
In February itself, the Education Department had ordered the districts to distribute the appointment letter only after checking the veracity of the TET certificate, due to the educational and training certificates of the selected candidates being associated with many states and two and a half years in the process of appointment. In order to distribute the appointment letters on February 23, 80 fake candidates were caught while checking the veracity of the certificates of the selected candidates in the counseling held in July-August 2021. Now including 445, this figure has reached 525. Sources say that when the academic-educational certificates are checked, the number of fake candidates will come to the fore.
Education Minister has ordered FIR
Education Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary has already ordered to identify and take action against those who try to get teacher’s job on fake degree. He has clearly said that such people should not be reinstated under any circumstances, secondly, to deprive other deserving candidates of the opportunity and to mislead the department, register an FIR against them.
