There is good news for the students who are looking forward to take admission in Nursing and Paramedical courses in UP. 300 new nursing, paramedical colleges will be admitted in the state from this year. After examining the standards, the Medical Education Department has given recognition to these colleges. Admission will be done here from this academic session.

Due to Corona, nursing and paramedical colleges could not open in the state for the last two years. During this time, applications were coming continuously for opening new colleges. During the two years, 1160 colleges had applied. The Medical Education Department started the process of testing the standards of colleges by forming teams. Director General of Medical Education, Dr. NC Prajapati informed that 300 colleges had fulfilled all the standards. It has been recommended to give recognition to these colleges. About 30 new colleges are opening in Lucknow.

The Director General said that about eight to 10 types of courses have been recognized in nursing, paramedical colleges. Most of the colleges have other courses including B.Sc Nursing, MSc Nursing, ANM, GNM, X-ray, OT, Dialysis, Optometrist Technician. Each college has 10 to 50 seats. In this way there are about four thousand seats.
200 college backs
200 colleges refused to conduct inspection after application. In this condition they could not be inspected. Director General Dr. NC Prajapati said that most of the colleges of West, Purvanchal districts have refused inspection.
Standards incomplete in 660 colleges
The Medical Education Department has not met the standards in about 660 colleges. Dr. NC Prajapati said that there are minor shortcomings in most of the colleges, which have been asked to be rectified in two months. If the colleges remove the objections within the stipulated time, then the way for admission in these will also be cleared. Students from far and wide will get the benefit of this. Trained staff will be posted in government and private institutions.
